Salt

I was exploring and learning salt effects for my next paintings

My experiments. Part 1

I was not so happy about that paintings. But today this exercises and part of these paintings led to some amazing results I cannot be silent about.

Artist Tip:

So please don`t give up if you in that point right now after unhappy painting. Tomorrow you will understand why. Just keep doing!

My experiments. Part 2

In part 1 I was suggesting you to keep practicing. I know artists often struggle with that thing. Today I have one more piece of cake for you to prove that point.

Based on THIS watercolor painting from my yesterdays “unhappy experiments” there are series of cute gifts have created.

To be even truly the list of paper I was painting with salt exercises was bought a used one. So I do my salt experiment on already used list of paper (both sides of the list) so it defiantly was creating for the bin exactly. So it was 100% hopeless paining.

Artist Tip

We never know where our art journey will lead us. But it will be so wonderful places if we just be wise to keep on going when the weather is cloudy.

I like painting ducks. They are as easy as pumpkins. Lovely subjects, lovely paper. What else can I ask in this world?

Set a challenge

🎨 As an artists the most valuable time spending is simply painting for yourself. 🎨 It is hard to turn in to as there is “Coming Closer. Ducks” painting tutorial is coming and I have a lot of other things to do. But I should. 🎨 I made my discoveries that I show later in my tutorials during such sessions. 🎨 And I grow as an artist by little steps during such sessions as well. 🎨 I keep my enthusiasm and feel energized in everyday life by investing my time into such sessions. 🎨 I can`t even imaging how this everyday little pushes myself to paint influence on the whole journey! 🎨 Right now I have several goose watercolors laying everywhere in my studio. This one is my favorite. I set a challenge to portray his shaking body after his bathing in a pond. My hands are shaking before I am going to add an eye and my goose will alive since then.

⬅ Work in progress. Watercolor hummingbird by Olga Peregood.

Switching topic

I fell too architecturally after painting for competition and decided to paint something absolutely different. Hummingbird is appearing from a very first wash on my easel. I like spontaneous brushstrokes and happy accidents and watermarks on image.

There is a cover for my upcoming watercolor tutorial. In this tutorial as my ducks were coming closer and closer as I was adding new detail I called it “Coming closer. Ducks”. If you don`t believe in magic I have an evidence recorded. See the most popular watercolor techniques cover several illusions (moving subjects, further, water reflections, color glowing and so on) just in ONE simple painting. Enjoy watching how one of favorite subjects with every brushstroke is coming closer to you!
