Hi, there!

Registration for “May Spring Streams” is closed. Everyone who wanted already joined and homework cards exercises sent and on their’s way to passioned talented artists to replicate my simple spring flowers.

As now every single day bring new flowers I keep painting and prioritize time in my graphic to spent time walking and absorb spring beauty ūüėČ My daffodils creation story in this post today.

When you know the algorithm which works, when you know the structure and what is important to paint and what might be forgotten there is a freedom and confidence take place.

Back from post office¬†on my road I saw many sorts of daffodils: some catch my attentions because of a huge size of buds, others – colors. I hadn’t camera with me. The only way to “bring” them with me is to remember and paint as soon as I back home.

I went to the store and there was one more bouquet of daffodils on cashier table! I came home full of different daffodils dancing in my imagination.

Paint from head and memories without photographs from fresh morning walk experience, paint your own [ not someone else’s beautiful photographs ] this is what I can’t be tired to tell to my students again and again.
As I had no photographs I started to think how to paint them. I notice there is a common structure for ANY daffodils. Each sort of daffodils has this circle and 6-star petals!

Watercolor loose style of painting is beautiful because you don’t need to paint everything. Remembering colors, knowing structure and a wish to paint is enough to paint.

I leave my daffodils layers unfinished and wet till tomorrow on my easel. I know tomorrow with fresh eyes I found what is important, what is already there and what parts of a painting asks to define

I can’t wait to share my lovely 2018 color gamma for daffodils which I discovered and all my tips and tricks on upcoming “May Spring Streams” watercolor painting online demonstrations and artists friends meet ups.

My lovely spring color gamma for daffodils

Another beautiful thing about my way of painting is that it’s universal. You can paint ANY flower with this algorithm! This year I have new sort of muscari with delight aroma. New inspiration and reason to think how to capture them using my techniques..!
